THIS Health Concern district council yet again seems to have shown a complete lack of concern - this time to the elderly, infirm and disabled members of Bewdley's Roman Catholic community.
The decision to refuse planning permission to build an extension to the Holy Family Church not only discriminates against those parishioners, but does little to demonstrate the council's commitment to the Disability Discrimination Act.
The extension was designed to provide much-improved access to the church, as well as improved facilities.
Surely church attenders have a right to ease of access and modern facilities, as well as workers, shoppers and recreation seekers?
As for Howard Martin's comment that approval would be setting "too much of a precedent", I feel this decision has set a precedent to discriminate against Roman Catholics, the elderly, the infirm and the disabled.
So much for health (or any other) concern.
