HERE we go again. One of the few useful things the council does, in exchange for all the money we are forced to pay for it, is to empty our dustbins once a week.
So now they are thinking of cutting this service by 50 per cent, and replacing it with some vague, pretentious and ill-thought-out scheme, which might just, going downhill with the wind behind it, result in a five per cent increase in recycling.
Do these wretched people really think that the communities they are supposed to serve will be fooled for one minute by such a ridiculous idea?
This is just another major cost-cutting and service-reduction exercise, and a thoroughly stupid one at that.
Why don't we organise a town poll to seek the opinion of the local communities for this proposal?
Be assured, a 50 per cent reduction in household waste collections will not result in the slightest reduction of Council Tax.
