Littleton 3, West Hagley 0
LITTLETON recorded their third successive victory to move into third place in Midland Combination Division Two.
This was another good performance by the hosts who never gave Hagley a chance to settle and attacked for long periods.
Their first chance fell to Nick Burrows on ten minutes but his close-range effort was blocked. The same player was then just wide with a header from a powerful cross from Robert Harris.
The first goal came after 25 minutes when Billy Hiden drove in a powerful shot from 25 yards which swerved viciously to deceive the keeper.
This was quickly followed by a Mark Gledhill drive that flew just over the bar.
The second goal came just before the break. Perry Beddoes broke down the left and his cross was converted by Burr-ows.
Hagley were fired up by their half-time talk and put Littleton under pressure for the first 20 minutes of the second half.
A sweet five-man move saw the ball criss-crossing the pitch until Aaron White powered in a shot which went just over. They created two or three other half chances, but were unable to turn them into goals.
Littleton were looking for a third goal to kill off the opposition and went close when a Hiden free-kick was deflected on to a post.
The goal finally came in the 76th minute when Littleton were awarded a dubious looking penalty that Robert Hands converted with ease.
Adam Slade then broke down the right but his shot was deflected on to and over the bar.
The game was sponsored by R J Cox, Painter and Decorator.
Littleton are away to Kenil-worth Wardens on Saturday.
