CONKER mad April Wells has amassed a collection of over 1,000 since they started falling from trees around her home in Norval Road, South Littleton.
At the last count, the seven-year-old pupil at Littleton CE First School had 1,020 conkers - fruits of the horse chestnut tree.
Mum Lesley Wells said: "At the moment they are stuck in my shed and we shall soon have to make a decision what to do with them all."
She explained: "April says she is going to plant some of them to grow her own conker trees, but we can't cope with that many."
April's interest in collecting conkers was sparked off by a boy in her class at school who piled them up last year.
