WITH the week's break over for the National Championships, the league programme gets back into full swing for Worcester Norton Ladies.
They lie in second place in the Midland League Premier Division and play third placed, Nottingham Highfields.
Last season Highfields held Worcester to a goalless draw at home that turned out to have a dramatic effect in the final analysis, with Worcester just failing by those two dropped points to take the Midland's title.
Worcester will be determined not to have a repeat performance on Saturday at Nunnery Wood (3pm).
Worcester seconds will continue their pursuit of the Worcestershire League Division One title when they visit Evesham firsts.
Worcester thirds will be anxious to get points on the board to start the climb away from the relegation zone of Division One when they visit Harborne seconds.
The fourth team also hope to get their first points in Division Three when they travel to play Droitwich thirds.
Worcester play their first game in the EHA Cup on Sunday at Nunnery Wood (1.30pm) when the visitors will be the Birmingham club, Harborne.
The National Championships held last weekend proved to be a successful occasion for a number of Worcester first team squad players. England Under 18 international, Kate Draper scored three goals and Charlene Mason two to take the Midlands Under 17 team to their second successive gold medal.
Tina Evans and Sophie Wood were prominent in a defence that only conceded three goals in the whole of the Championships.
Captain of the Midlands Under 15 team was goalkeeper Fiona Nash but she was only able to lead her team into third place albeit only one point behind the winners, the South Region.
Nash and Jackie Russell were the cornerstones of a defence that also conceded only three goals. Jenny Rogers worked hard in midfield and also scored a goal and Lora Symonds was one of the industrious strikers.
