A PRICKLY arrival at West Midland Safari Park has a close connection with her keeper.
Katie, a four-week-old porcupine, was named after animal carer Kate Such, who celebrated her 21st birthday the day the new arrival came into the world.
She was the first baby born at Pets Corner at the Bewdley attraction since her parents moved into their new home a couple of months ago.
Katie is one of 10 porcupines at the Spring Grove site. She will spend the winter with her family in heated accommodation and be fed plenty of fruit and vegetables.
Those who want to see Katie's family can visit them at the Porcupine Exhibit at the park, where it will be open daily throughout the half term until next month.
