TWO drivers escaped serious injury when they lost control of their cars on an icy road.
Fire crews from Kidderminster and Bewdley were called to the separate accidents shortly before 8am on Saturday near the West Midland Safari Park on the A456.
Water from a leaking pipe is believed to have frozen into sheet ice as temperatures plummeted overnight.
A Kidderminster Fire Station spokesman said a BMW had flipped on to its roof while a Mercedes turned on its side and slid down an embankment.
A spokeswoman for Kidderminster Police said the woman driver of the BMW was taken to Kidderminster Hospital suffering from minor injuries.
She added Severn Trent Water had been notified of the leak.
The road was closed while it was gritted and firefighters made both vehicles safe.
