THE Worcestershire Cricket Centre at Prince Henry's High School provided an excellent setting for Evesham Archers' second annual Stafford.
Nearly eighty archers from around the Midlands gathered to shoot a Stafford round which is six-dozen arrows at an eighty centimetre face.
Evesham's Peter Williams put in an excellent performance to win the gents' recurve section with 687 out of 720. Malcolm Porter shot well to score 644 and take third place.
Not to be outdone, the club's ladies put in excellent scores with Lisa Illingworth taking the recurve title with 653. Linda Haines was third with 641.
Evesham's compound archers performed well with Ian Trout taking the limited trophy and Jacqueline Williams taking the junior lady trophy.
The team championship was a close fight with Williams, Porter and Illingworth scoring enough to beat Leamington Spa.
New member Mike Crayford shot well to win the D class medal.
With the indoor season well under way new members are most welcome. For more details telephone 01386 831509.
