TWO distinguished soloists from the Orchestre National de France, Isabelle Perrin (harp) and Philippe Pierlot (flute) will be in concert in St Faith's Church, Overbury, in the Parish Music Concert series on Saturday, November 2.
The programme will include Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata, Dvorak's Sonatina, a Sonata in G minor by JS Bach, an Impromptu for solo harp by Faure and Carnival de Venise by Pierre Agricole.
Tickets cost £5 on the door, students free.
Isabelle studied at the Julliard School of New York and in 1990 was named co-principal with the Orchestre Nationale de France and a participating soloist by the Menuhin Foundation. She has given concerts and masterclasses around the world and has recorded a number of CDs, both on her own and with the Trio Turner of which she is a founding member. She teaches at the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris.
Philippe Pierlot was Joseph Rampal's last pupil and has studied with Jean-Pierre Rampal and Alain Marion. In 1976 he joined the Orchestre Nationale de France where he is now first flute and soloist. He has given many concerts and recitals in France and elsewhere in Europe, both as soloist and with various orchestras. He is a member of the Trio Turner and teaches at the Conservatoire National de Region in Rueil-Malmaison.
