Take heed good folks of Pershore
With our cottage hospital, all is not well
For despite lots of empty promises
Casualty has been closed for a 4 month spell!
It seems that a bank nurse is too hard to find
And no other staff available to offer relief
Perhaps the scenario would be somewhat different
If there were more Indians in the NHS than chiefs.
As for Blair and Brown's promise of lots of cash
Intended to put our NHS back on a roll
Well, that's like continually filling a bucket with water
And then realising it has a dirty big hole.
Its about time that patient care came first
And NHS staff given proper resources
More auxiliaries are needed to take pressure off
And to stop flogging the 'willing horses'.
Too much money is wasted on talking shops
Like 'reflective practice' and 'clinical governance'
When most staff would prefer just to do their job
Without constant government interference.
And now Blair has made this new promise
For you to see a Doctor within 24 hours
Never mind that to see a Consultant takes months
That's hard to see from their ivory towers.
Meanwhile, our local casualty remains closed
Surely the time has come to make a real fuss
But don't worry, if the Asylum seekers do arrive
They'll get all the healthcare they need and blow us!
