MALVERN Ladies FC entertained Evesham Ladies FC in the County Cup on Sunday.
MALVERN LADIES FC 7, EVESHAM LADIES FC 1
Malvern started very slowly and were given a couple of early scares from a very young Evesham team. This gave Malvern a wake up call and in the 17th minute a goal from Emily Prosser gave Malvern a 1-0 lead. After 21 minutes the home defence stood off and gave the Evesham forward a clear run on goal giving Sharon Coxhead, the Malvern keeper, no chance making the score 1-1.
In the 37th minute Emily Prosser collected the ball on the half way line, beat two defenders and calmly chipped the advancing keeper giving Malvern a 2-1 half time lead.
Malvern started the second half a lot better but could not break down a stubborn Evesham defence until the 65th minute when a through ball from Emma Hinchcliffe was chipped over the Evesham keeper by Emily Prosser, a carbon copy of her second goal.
This saw Malvern start to play some better football and after some good passing Emma Hinchcliffe made it 4-1 to the home side in the 70th minute. In the 85th minute Becky Crack made it 5-1 and two more goals for Malvern in the last minute of the game gave Malvern a 7-1 victory. Kate Boulton played well for Malvern.
