A GOOD local derby at Lower Howsell Road last Sunday saw the points shared.
MALVERN PREMIERS 1, MALVERN RADAR 1
In the first half there was mainly midfield activity with a right old tussle going on between all the midfield players and determined defending, again by both sides, saw few clear cut chances created.
Prems opened the scoring midway through the half when Radar appeared to have safely cleared a corner only for Jason Griffiths to head the ball back into the danger area, somehow the ball ended up in the net deflecting off an outstretched leg.
The second half saw a bit more goal mouth action with Radar's keeper Chris Ball pulling off a great double save to foil Jamie Abba and Lee Henderson, and the latter was unlucky not to score when his 20 yard shot crashed against the cross bar.
At the other end Darren Loader appeared to wrestle defender Dave Withers to the ground as they chased a through ball only for the ref to wave play on, however Loader's 25 yard lob over Steve Newman was off target.
Newman then hung onto Clive Churchill's rocket free kick and he then produced a great save blocking Nial Henderson's effort. The same players came up against each other moments later, this time Henderson calmly lobbed the ball in for the equaliser.
This Sunday Radar are at home to Ringspanners in the WFA Cup, players meet 9.45 at Victoria Park.
