FROMES Hill maintained the impressive start to their Malvern League season with a hard fought but well deserved win over high flying AC30.

Fromes fell behind to an early goal but soon drew level when Jamie Dean lobbed the keeper from the halfway line.
The game swung Fromes' way when Scott Bruton burst through the AC30 defence leaving three defenders in his wake before planting a shot in the bottom corner.
AC30 drew level five minutes later when Jason Payton-Smith slammed home a superb volley past Gary Cheshire but again Fromes grabbed the lead when Bruton scored the goal of the game, he collected a Darren Smith pass, flicked the ball over a defender's head and then smashed an unstoppable volley past the keeper. AC30 pegged the score back to 3-3 on the stroke of half time. Payton-Smith capitalising on a defensive mix up.
The second half turned out to be rather drab with neither side creating any real chances until sub Sean Taylor came on with 15 minutes left. His first real contribution came when he chased a long ball that the AC30 keeper should have collected. Taylor nicked it off his toe, pulled the ball back to Darren Smith who rifled the ball into the roof of the net to snatch victory.
