COUN Alex Wall (Your Letters, October 18) has not noticed that the first half of my letter (Your Letters October 11) referred to a PUBLIC sports centre (e.g. Perdiswell in Worcester).
As I explained, these are different from 'dual use sports halls at secondary schools', hired out by the school which he is talking about.
This part of my letter referred to the sale of Malvern's council houses for £20 million, a poll of what the money should be spent on in which a public sports centre came top and what should have been the building and running of same. This all took place in the early 1990s before Tenbury Wells became part of the district.
As we know, the nearest MHDC got to implementing the poll's result was, after many years being on the brink of providing a public sports centre combined with 'Splash'. This could probably still happen for about £2.5 million.
