POWICK entertained Colwall for the first time in a couple of years as they were promoted this season to Worcester League Division One.
POWICK 4, COLWALL ST JAMES 0
With only one minute gone Colwall should have gone one up when a back pass did not reach the keeper, and the Colwall striker hit the post. At the other end Powick, playing better football, nearly went ahead when Dave Buckley's header went just wide of the post. On 42 minutes a throw in by Stuart Fish into the penalty area was volleyed home by Chris Golding.
Within ten minutes of the second half Powick went two up when a through ball by Nick Price found James Baker who crossed for Phil Skilton to head home. Powick went 3-0 in front when James Baker scored in the 60th minute.
Powick then made two substitutes, Bryan Craven on for James Hughes and Simon Rodway for Chris Golding. With the added pace of these two players, Powick went 4-0 in front when Simon Rodway passed to Lee Richardson, who crossed for Phil Skilton to score his second goal.
Man of the match was Chris Golding
On Sunday, Powick are away to Broadwas.
