DO you remember the Lich Gate? Or the Elizabethan cottages in Lich Street? Or Blind Lizzie who lived there and repaired cane chairs? I do, but I was at school at the time and too young to do anything to save them.
Priceless pieces of history, easily rivalling those of York, were lost due to the short-term greed and long term blindness of the city council. The heritage of future generations was lost forever to be replaced by faceless shops and a car park.
And now again short term penny pinching is blinding the council to a cultural heritage serving the community at all levels and ages.
Are we again going to deprive Worcester of a precious asset and generations to come of its only living, breathing, growing theatre?
