A HEADTEACHER at a Shropshire primary school has combined teaching with her own learning.
Lisa Slater has also walked away with a prestigious prize for her studies towards her MSc in Educational Leadership and Management.
Lisa won the Jeremy Richmond prize, awarded in memory of the course leader to the best graduate in this field.
She had to submit a 20,000-word dissertation on the factors that affect performance in a school, using her own school as the research resource for the work.
"It was a fantastic experience, if stretching," she said.
"I was able to conduct in-depth interviews with every child in the school, over a half-hour period, and able to gain information from teachers and parents through a series of questionnaires."
The education authority in Shropshire, which has links with UCW, funded Lisa's place on the course.
