A SINGLE mum-of-two still has no electricity - more than 48 hours after Sunday's storms damaged power cables in her village.
Katie Parkes, who lives in Huddington, near Droitwich, with her six-year-old son Rupert and one-year-old daughter Tabitha, was cut off at 6.30am on Sunday morning.
The family has spent the past two days struggling with no lights, heating or cooker.
"I've been trying to cook on the wood burner - just potatoes, eggs, anything you can boil really," she said.
Ms Parkes, aged 31, telephoned Worcester-based electrical company Aquila Networks several times, but because of the huge number of power lines that were damaged in the storm - more than 21,000 homes were initially affected in Worcestershire alone - they were unable to tell her when it would be coming back on.
A spokesman for Aquila said they hoped power would be restored to Droitwich by 5pm today.
