PHIL Robinson is looking for his Hereford United side to finish their rollercoaster season on a high with victory at Stevenage Borough tomorrow (3pm).
After surviving a nailbiting final few weeks the Bulls have ensured Nationwide Conference status and have at least that as consolation following a long hard year.
For Boro there is still the little matter of an FA Umbro Trophy final clash against Yeovil at Villa Park ahead of them but for United the season's highlights are already behind them.
In a difficult first year Robinson has enjoyed some highs and lows for the Bulls with FA Cup success and a mixture of good and bad results in the league including the scalps of title combatants Dagenham & Redbridge and Boston United.
The season however has been one which Robinson believes has been characterised by inconsistency illustrated by their recent defeat to lowly Hayes.
"It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride with the high points the FA Cup run," he said.
"We had a great game at home to Wrexham live on television and in the next round against Swindon had a great following and were unlucky not to beat them as well.
"We have also had some excellent performances -- when I first took over we had a 4-2 win over Farnborough Town and then a 6-0 victory against Scarborough.
"Against Boston in the televised game we were 2-0 down after 12 minutes but came back to win 4-3 but on the whole we have been a little bit inconsistent."
With last week's victory over Dagenham ensuring United's survival, tomorrow is an opportunity for them to round off the season on a positive note and put behind them the disappointment of last Saturday's Hayes defeat.
"Naturally we want to finish on a high," said Robinson.
"It was disappointing on Saturday against Hayes to lose a game we thought we could win and it just shows our inconsistency.
"In midweek we had beaten Dagenham but we couldn't raise our game for Hayes and it has been the story of our last couple of seasons."
Robinson has injury doubts over several players though captain Ian Wright is set to return despite being substituted in the Herefordshire Invitation Cup against Swansea City match with his hernia problem.
Gavin Williams, who injured his knee in the warm-up of the Swansea game, is also set to play as is Paul Parry (dead leg), but Rob Elmes (knee) is doubtful.
Formcast: Bulls to catch Boro with one eye on Trophy -- 1-0 win to Hereford.
