Coronation of King Edward VII - Redditch celebrations. The service at St Stephen's Church was a suitable fitting and worthy celebration of an event which although was an occasion for rejoicing, was at the same time of a most solemnly serious affair.
At 8am, a Royal Peal was rung upon the church bells and at 9 o'clock the communion service was held.
The churchyard gates and doors were opened at 10.30 at which time a recital was given upon the organ by Mr TA Matthews, who played selections from Grison's Communion Service and an Offertoire by the same composer.
