REDS stopper Paul West was refusing to panic after Tuesday's friendly defeat to Valley tenants Feckenham.
United lost out 3-2 but Reds manager Rod Brown chopped and changed an experimental lineup.
"We are not reading too much into it because the manager was just using it to try out three at the back," said the former Port Vale defender.
"It was better to have a game than a lot of running but we just have to see if we've got the personnel to play a back three.
"We dominated the game but looked a bit vulnerable at times.
"But it was a good blow-out before Saturday's game against Cirencester."
