AN elderly couple have been left "extremely upset" after two bogus callers entered their house and stole more than £300.
A man called at their house on Clayfield Road, Bretforton, at midday on Thursday, October 24.
After claiming that he needed to check inside the property for damp and inspect, the roof he pushed past the lady, who had answered the door.
He headed for the front room and a second man then joined them from outside. The men chatted and then left.
A short time later the lady realised a wallet and a bag containing more than £300 had been stolen.
"This is a nasty offence," said PC John McLaren. "The two elderly people have been left extremely upset by their ordeal."
"A white Ford Escort van with ladders on the roof containing two men was seen in the area at the time and could possibly be linked."
The first man is described as short and fat with a round face. He was wearing a pale blue jumper.
His accomplice is said to be taller, of stocky build with thick, neat, black hair. He was wearing dark coloured clothing.
PC McLaren is appealing for anyone with information to call him at Evesham police station on 01905 723888.
