POLICE are warning people to be vigilant after phone calls were made by people claiming to be from the police asking for personal financial information.
The owner of a shop in Bromsgrove had a call from someone claiming to be working for Worcester police.
They asked the woman if she had received payment by credit cards for any goods that morning as an inquiry was being carried out into fraud.
The person asked for credit card numbers but the woman refused to give the information.
Others have received calls claiming to be from the Association of Chief Police Officers.
