REDDITCH skipper Tom Hiles says his side still have a chance of the title despite losing their unbeaten start to the season at the weekend.

The lengthy journey to former Welsh League side Oswestry ended in disappointment as Redditch crashed to a 4-1 defeat.

But Hiles says it just makes the return fixture more important.

The Bromsgrove Road side will be unchanged for the visit of Stafford on Saturday (bully-off 12pm).

And Hiles says his team fancy their chances against opponents they beat home and away last season.

REDDITCH Ladies Hockey Club skipper Claire Steadman says a lack of consistency is the reason her side are propping up the Midlands region Hockey Midlands League Conference.

The Bromsgrove Road side crashed 3-1 at fellow strugglers Wellingborough at the weekend.

Sophie Laxton scored the club's first league goal at the fourth time of asking and Steadman says there is hope for the team.

Redditch entertain Sutton Coldfield Seconds on Saturday (bully-off 1.30pm) and Steadman hopes to have central defender Kim Wheeler back after illness and right midfielder Anna Stafford available again.
