Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League

THE atrocious weather put paid to several fixtures but, of those played, third division Broadway United Reserves inflicted a rare defeat on second-placed Queens.

Leading at the interval by the odd goal in five, Broadway went on to hit six with the goals coming from Neil Annis (2), Jobson, Craig, Hawtrey and Dyke.

Crowle recorded their biggest win since joining the league, hitting ten past pointless Riverside with Stone, Hay-ward and Gwillam scoring twice.

Mountinneers and Norgren shared six goals with Read hitting two for the Mount.

Goals from Cooke and Hill took Shipston Excelsior to the top of Division Four after victory over Bell United, while a Jonathan Prater double helped Hampton WMC to overcome Crown Athletic.

Willersey remain top of Division One thanks to a second half equaliser from Andy Beale against Moreton Wanderers. Matt Winter scored twice for Wanderers before the break with Willersey replying through Hands.

Bretforton VIC and Upton Snodsbury made progress in the WFA Sunday Junior Cup but there will be no repeat for last season's finalists, Eve-sham WMC, who fell 4-3 at home to Rovers Sunday.

Offenham Rovers, Ambas-sador, Pebworth, Ashton and Defford and Besford United all won through in the Minor Cup.

Swan Sports have become the third team to withdraw from the league since the AGM in June.
