REDS winger Matty Hall goes into Selly Oak for an operation on his fractured cheekbone tomorrow.
Saturday's win at basement boys Swindon Supermarine was held up for 30 mins as Hall was treated on the pitch after a nasty collision before being taken to a nearby hospital.
Hall was transferred to Selly Oak and kept in overnight on Saturday and faces the op to repair a cheekbone fractured in three places.
But assistant manager Gary Whild is hopeful of having him back in the side before Christmas.
With manager Rod Brown limited by a strict policy on squad size, the arrival of midfielder Mark Taylor, released from Halesowen Town, meant Lea Shaw followed Craig Harris out of the exit door.
Shaw was one of Brown's earliest signings from former club Stourport Swifts and is understood to be interesting Midland Alliance high-fliers Rushall.
Taylor turned down interest from Dr Martens Western rivals Evesham United to join Redditch and will be in the side to visit Mangotsfield United in the FA Trophy on Saturday (ko 3pm).
Whild confirmed United are still hunting for a goalscorer to add some punch up front.
Reds boss Brown was down to a skeleton crew for last night's first round tie against Evesham in the Dr Martens League Cup.
Evesham were beaten 2-1 in the league last week and Brown will be hoping for a repeat despite an unfamiliar squad.
Winger Alex Cowley (ankle) was set to be rested and there were doubts over striker Lee Booth (ankle) and Dennis Mulholland (hamstring).
Midfielder Richard Softley is unavailable at the weekend and was set to be rested last night after a knock against Swindon but Whild denied he would be moving to Bromsgrove Rovers after a seven day approach from their arch rivals.
Striker Naved Arshad and defender Quentin Townsend were set for first team recalls with teenage midfielder Chris Hill recalled to the squad and reserves Danny Wilson and Steve Evans set for a place on the bench.
Defender Anthony Hall and left sided player Andy Dodds have both been recalled from a loan spell at Midland Alliance side Oldbury United.
