A TRIO of unwanted kittens called Pumpkin, Trick and Treat are seeking loving homes this Halloween.
The Blue Cross Animal Adoption Centre, in Wildmoor Lane, wants to find new owners for the playful pussycats who were left to perish in a cardboard box, abandoned on a busy Hagley road.
The eight-week-old female kittens were rescued by a passing motorist who pulled into a lay-by and heard them desperately meowing.
With nights drawing in and average temperatures well below 7C after dusk, the kittens were unlikely to have survived for more than 12 hours.
Happily, the threesome, aptly named in the run up to spooky season, have been given a clean bill of health and will soon be ready to leave the Blue Cross at Catshill.
Centre boss Neil Edwards said: "Despite the callousness of the kitten's previous owner, they seem to have come through their ordeal unscathed.
"They are proving to be very vocal, sociable kittens. Trick and Treat are more mischievous than their sister Pumpkin, who is the quietist of the three.
"In fact, if anything goes bump in the night around the centre this Halloween-en, it's bound to be Trick or Treat."
