COMMUNITY groups can bag a grant as Droitwich round table seek extra help.
The Spa round table has more than £4,500 to donate to local charities and groups. And this week people are invited to bid for a slice of it.
The organisation raised the money last year by running events such as the Christmas Sleigh rounds and the annual Not the Donkey Derby event.
Organisations, charities, community groups and individuals can all apply, provided the money is for a needy cause in the Droitwich area.
Simon Cosson, round table publicity officer said: "We are actively encouraging people and organisations to apply for grants. The money was raised by townspeople and we want to plough it back into the local community."
Applications, which must be submitted by December 15, need to be made in writing, setting out what the funds would be used for. The round table will then award grants as they see fit early in the New Year.
"If you don't manage to apply by the deadline, don't worry and put in an application anyway," said Ian Godwin, round table chairman .
"We will always try and support those in genuine need in the local community and will help them raise the funds.
"However, unless we hear about it, we cannot do anything to help," he added.
Applications can be made in writing to Philip Hawkes, Droitwich Spa Round Table Community Services Officer, Yew Tree Hill Farm, Newland Road, Droitwich Spa, WR9 7HU.
