A MOTHER failed to get help for her young daughter for up to two hours after the girl had been sexually abused so violently that she had severe bleeding from her private parts.
And at Warwick Crown Court the mother, who is from Alcester but cannot be named to protect the identity of her five-year-old daughter, pleaded guilty to a charge of cruelty.
The charge specified that she wilfully neglected the little girl "in a manner likely to cause unnecessary suffering or injury to health".
It arises out of an incident in January when the girl was subjected to the sexual assault.
Attacker Nigel Addison, who unknown to the girl's parents had been cautioned six years ago for indecency with a child, has been jailed for five years for the brutal attack.
The case against the girl's mother was adjourned for a pre-sentence report and she was granted bail.
When Addison, 41, of Crooks Lane, Alcester, was sentenced in July, the court heard he was at the girl's home during the evening when he called to her mother to say she was injured.
Before that, according to the girl's father, who was not there at the time, there had been no signs of her having been harmed in any way.
Her mother found her to be in an obvious state of distress, severe pain and suffering from severe bleeding.
Despite the obvious seriousness of the injury, there was a delay of up to two hours before an ambulance was called and the girl was taken to hospital.
