I AM writing to complain about the deplorable state of bus services in the Redditch and Bromsgrove area.
Over the last month or so, I have been refused entry onto a bus (for no apparent reason), witnessed water seeping through floorboards, had drivers change their route willy-nilly, waited half-an-hour for buses to turn up and broken the land speed record in 30mph zones.
I could go on ad nauseam but I am sure you get the picture.
During the summer I visited Romania - one of Europe's poorest countries - and enjoyed bus services that ran on time and, best of all, drivers who were friendly, courteous and had a reasonable grasp of the English language (not one of the strengths of local bus drivers, regrettably).
I suggest the bosses of our bus companies visit Romania and observe how to run an efficient service.
As their salaries are doubtless slightly more than the average Romanian monthly wage of £50, I am certain they can afford it.
If not, I will be pleased to make a donation towards this worthy venture.
