A NEW drummer has been found for a Bromsgrove rock band, thanks to an appeal in the Advertiser/Messenger.

Popular rockers Easy have found a replacement drummer for original member Dave Trimnell, who jetted off to Auckland last month, chasing a once in a life time job opportunity.

Since Dave's sad departure the band have been using the expertise of a drummer from a tribute band based in West Bromwich but they have been on the constant look out to fill the spot permanently.

Following two appeals in the Advertiser/Messenger for talented drummers to come forward the band found Redditch man Simon Brooks.

Unanimous decision

Lead guitarist Baz Lane said the band were impressed with the 29-year-old musician and made a unanimous decision he was the man to fill Dave's boots.

"Our new drummer is called Simon, he likes a drink and he likes the ladies, so he should fit in with us just fine," said Baz.

He has had experience as a session musician and with a few small bands but is looking forward to gigging with the boys.

They will be appearing at the Sugarbrook, in Charford, this Sunday.

Future dates of note for town fans of the rock group include The Merlin, in Stourbridge Road, on Friday, November 29 and headlining at the Bike Rally, at the Portway Rugby Club, on Saturday, November 30.
