BROMSGROVE Hockey Club Second XI romped to a 6-1 victory at Rugeley.

The Staffordshire side started better and took the lead when a fierce shot was allowed to pass by Evans in the Bromsgrove goal.

But from that, the ten men of the visitors took control and played with more urgency, application and purpose.

A short corner strike was deflected into the goal by Nick Frizzell who later added a second from the penalty spot after the ball struck a defender on the goal line.

He completed his hat-trick before punishing the Rugeley defence after a smart interchange with Alistair Shaw.

Rugeley managed to compete a little more effectively in the second half with the slope to their advantage but never really threatened.

The tireless Shaw was rewarded by a goal early in the second half and provided the cross from which Clive Robinson completed the scoring.
