A Redditch taxi driver exposed himself to two 13-year-old schoolgirls, Worcester Crown Court heard.

Mohammed Fiaz was on his way home from work when he lowered his trousers and flashed at the victims from a gap between bushes, said Tariq Shakoor, prosecuting.

The teenagers reported him to a passing motorist who gave chase. But Fiaz tried to escape by running through a house.

The householder also ran after him and he was eventually detained and handed over to police.

Fiaz, a 27-year-old father of two, of Other Road, Redditch, pleaded guilty to two counts of indecency with a child.

Sentencing him to a three-year community rehabilitation order, Judge David McEvoy said: "I don't know what came over you."

He ordered Fiaz to take part in a sex therapy programme and pay court costs of £350. Fiaz must register as a sex offender for five years.

Fiaz was in Holmwood Drive, Redditch, on July 7 when he shouted at the girls more than once to attract their attention, said Mr Shakoor.

He began a sexual act which made the girls feel uncomfortable.

The girls then went into Bromsgrove Road and pointed Fiaz out to the motorist. He ran through a house while a child was watching TV in a fruitless bid to escape.

Fiaz, of previous good character, was a devout Muslim whose wife was pregnant with their third child, said Martin Jenkins, defending.

He found it very difficult to admit he got any sexual stimulus from flashing and needed help to address his problems.

The crime had been 'excruciatingly embarrassing' for him and he faced losing his job because of his stupidity.

The judge ordered Fiaz to have no contact with children under 18 or work with anyone under 18.
