Redditch Swimming Club finished in fourth place behind Stratford Sharks in the second round of the National Speedo League - West Midlands.

Sarah Holtom got the gala underway for Redditch with a superb swim to take first place in the Ladies Open IM.

Paul Wilkes swam strongly to take second for the Men followed by a further second later in the Open fly and a fourth in the Open free.

Nikki Cranshaw also swam to second in the Ladies Open back whilst Amy Edwards took third in the Open breast and Laura Cranshaw third in the Open free.

Craig Newton came third in the Men's Open breast, Richard Wood third in the Open back whilst Alex Munsey swam the Ladies Open fly.

In the relays the Ladies claimed first place in the medley with the Men, Richard Wood, Craig Newton, Paul Wilkes and Darren Corden came third.

They were joined by Jamie Mackay and Matt Hooper for the freestyle again finishing in third place.

The 9-11 girls swam to a fine third place in their freestyle relay followed later by fourth in the medley.

Individually Nicola Perry came third in the 50m back, Nicola Strange fourth in the 50m fly, Lucy Edwards third in the 50m breast.

Jessica Nice swam the 50m free.

For the boys Dan Ruckwood came fourth in the back, Liam Chapman fourth in the breast whilst Simon Whitmore swam fly and Anthony Baker freestyle.

Amy Edwards powered to first place in the 13U girls 100m breast with Fran Carlson taking second in the back and free.

Alex Munsey claimed first in the fly.

The girls were joined by Charlotte Reddish and Vicki Crisp in the relays finishing second in the medley and fourth in the free.

Sam Holtom finished fourth in the boys 13U 100m fly whilst Daniel Anderson took fourth in the back.

Matthew Crowe joined them for the relays where they finished fourth in the free and fifth in the medley. Sarah Holtom rounded off her evening with two further first places in the girls 15U 100m fly and breast, Nikki Cranshaw swam to first in the back with Laura Cranshaw taking second in the free. The girls also came second in the freestyle relay.

Matt Hooper earned another first for Redditch in the boys 15U 100m back whilst later finishing fifth in the free.
