Skipper Paul Moore was forced to chop and change through injuries and had a couple of first teamers unavailable because they were watching the internationals.
Jacko Maddocks (centre), Richard Parker (scrum half) and John Board (winger) all came into the team with Martin Leech moving from full back to fly half and centre Stuart Pearson moving to full back.
Prop Andy Gibb will be rested for Saturday's friendly at home to Powergen North Midlands Three outfit Bournville (ko 2.30pm) because he has been playing with a twisted knee.
Lee Froggatt is set to replace him and second row John Bloomer, a non-playing replacement at the weekend, is set to figure.
Moore also said a couple of second teamers who had caught the eye would get their chance against the only side to lose to North Midlands One whipping boys Five Ways Old Edwardians this season.
