REDDITCH Crematorium has launched an internal inquiry after a mix-up over a cremated remains plot.
Dorothy Hopkins, 57, of Melen Street, was shocked recently when she discovered the plot she had reserved for herself to the right of her mother's, had been used for somebody else.
Ms Hopkins is now left with the dilemma of whether to ask for that urn to be moved elsewhere or to take another plot to the top or bottom of her mother's.
Redditch Crematorium has offered a full refund of the money she had spent reserving the plot since 2000 and apologised.
Redditch Crematorium manager Stuart Connelly said: "I have offered Ms Hopkins a full apology and will reimburse the money she has spent.
"We have also offered her a plot in front or behind of her mother's free of charge.
"It was a genuine mistake for which we apologise and we will do anything we can to help Ms Hopkins."
Mr Connelly said such a mix-up had never happened before.
