OUTLINE plans for a residential development on the site of a vacant transporter depot in Alvechurch have been recommended for refusal despite a 213-signature petition in support of them.
The application involves building 24 two to five-bed houses on the Scarfield Hill site, which lies in the Green Belt but is a brownfield site.
The petition warns of the possibility of the depot being brought back to use.
Bromsgrove Council has received three letters raising concern and three in support.
A report states Alvechurch Parish Council preferred the site to be residential but concludes the proposal represented "inappropriate development in the Green Belt that would harm its openness and prejudice the purposes of Green Belt policy".
Bromsgrove Council planning committee will discuss the application on Monday.
