WELFORD bowlers Judith Hart and Trevor Francis have reached the area semi-finals of the National Mixed Pairs.
The duo overcame Coventry opponents 22-20 despite trailing at the 18th end and looking like losing out.
The club was also celebrating success in the National over-60s competition when they overcame Clarrie-Dunbar by 26 shots.
The double rink winners were R Ryman, I Smith, B Young and G Hicks (35-14) and P Day, N Clarke, M Rai-nbow and D Bennett (26-21).
City of Birmingham are the next opponents in the area final.
On the local front the news has not been too good after defeats at the hands of Brom-sgrove and Stoke Mandeville.
The solitary winning rink in a 23-shot loss at the hands of the former belonged to D Jackson, M Adams, H Jack-son and C Simmons who triumphed 30-16.
Welford managed double the success in their second outing but still lost out by 21 shots - 126-105.
