WORCESTER City manager John Barton has strengthened his squad for the tough Christmas period by bringing in central defender Mark Blount on a month's loan from Nationwide Conference Club Burton Albion.
Blount, who is no stranger to St.Georges Lane having played six matches for Worcester on loan last season, went straight in to the City squad that travelled to South Wales today to face Newport County (1pm).
In a further bonus to Barton, Burton have agreed that Blount can play in the FA Trophy Tie with Newport County in January.
Striker Mark Owen was again be ruled out of the Boxing Day trip with a stomach strain, but John Snape (groin) and Adam Wilde (foot) were both expected to be fit.
Meanwhile, the top of the table Dr.Martens League Premier Division encounter between Tamworth and Worcester at the Lamb on Saturday, January 4 will have segregation for travelling City supporters. The game, however, will not be all-ticket.
