JOHN Brain will consider Ben Hinshelwood as full back after Duncan Roke was ruled out of Worcester Rugby Club's clash with Coventry on January 4.

The Sixways' director of rugby was told yesterday that Roke is definitely out of the clash with Midland neighbours Coventry and is thinking of a return to 15 for the Scottish international.

Hinshelwood plays full back for Scotland and, after Southwell's disappointing performance at Welford Road, Brain admitted that the former Bedford man was in his thinking for that role.

"We wouldn't want to judge Hugo on one performance but Ben has to come into the thinking because we know he is a good full back," said Brain.

"It is definitely an option for us. Hugo made a few mistakes at Leicester but he has been very good in the games he has played for us this season. We do know what Ben can give us though. Duncan has an X-ray on the 27th and at present he is out of the Coventry game."

Worcester have had their fair share of bad luck with injury and lost Richard Bates on Saturday with a partially dislocated shoulder. Brain was hopeful, however, that the South Afri-can could be back quickly.

"From my understanding it is a similar injury to the one he picked up against Wakefield and he was then back on the bench against Rotherham a week later."
