Fifteen members of Staunton & District Over- 60s club entered the competition for a Christmas table decoration, the exhibits were all of such a high standard it was a difficult job for the judge but Mrs Ellen Goughs was placed first. Also at the meeting there was a Jubilee quiz. The Christmas party was a great success with members having a choice of the expertly cooked lunch by Mrs Gwen Pugh, of beef or turkey followed by super pavlova. The entertainment was music by Geoff George. On Monday, January 6 at the first meeting of the new year members will have their new programme for 2003, new members will be welcome.

Although parishioners in Corse had not had the opportunity to get to know Mr and Mrs North, who were involved in an accident at Corse Lawn in which Mrs North lost her life and Mr North was seriously injured, everyone in the parishes heard of the tragedy with deep regret and send their deepest sympathy to the families.

The benefice New Year walk will be held on January 1.
