Stage review: Cinderella at the Palace Theatre, Redditch (until January 5, 2003)
IT'S a long way from Albert Square to panto land at the Palace - but fans of the top soap EastEnders are being thrilled by the appearance of Mark Homer, who played Tony Hills in the BBC series.
Mark, who plays Buttons in the ever-popular Cinderella is well supported by a talented cast and a team of dancers.
And The Magical Puppets of Fantaisie en Noir are a particular act to look out for.
But undoubtedly the stars of the show, if the applause at the final curtain is any guide, are the Ugly Sisters, Buttercup and Daisy, played by real life Brummie brothers Gordon and Bunny Jay.
These troupers of the old school are reckoned to be one of the strongest acts in panto and with their numerous ad libs and references to current affairs are a joy and typify for me what pantomime is all about - having fun.
The show runs until Sunday, January 5.
The advice is - don't miss it.
