MALVERN Town Council is in line for extra cash from the Government to help with the cost of audit fees and reports.
Because it has a budgeted income of more than £500,000, the council is designated "Best Value", which means it has a duty to continuously improve efficiency.
The Local Government Bill, currently going through Parliament, will pay the council to help with its Best Value reviews. It will get £45,000, to cover the costs of the audits in 2002/3 and 2003/4, and after that £30,000 a year.
