MALVERN and Luctonians are both in action tomorrow before the year ends.

Malvern have the chance to leapfrog opponents Dunstablians in the Midlands One table with victory at Spring Lane while Luctonians could move a step closer to second spot with a win at struggling Spalding.

Lucs actually have four games in hand on second placed Whitchurch and could move to within six points of them with victory at the Lincolnshire club.

Meanwhile, the Midlands 18-Group Clubs selectors have named a 25-strong squad for the Divisional Festival at Castlecroft in Wolverhampton from January 3 to 5.

Ben Spokes, the Northampton Saints and Leicestershire hooker, proved his fitness at a squad session at Stowe School last weekend and he has displaced his county team-mate Aidan Woodhouse (Leicester Tigers) in the final squad. The Midlands will complete their preparations for the Festival with another squad session at Wellingborough School on December 28 and 29 and they will play the South West in their opening match of the Festival on January 3 at 2pm.

The winners of that game will then play the winners of the North v London game on January 5 to decide the title. The two losing teams will also play off on January 5.
