Sixways' chief executive Chris Laidlaw expects Worcester's National League One away clash with Moseley on March 1 to be rearranged.

This follows a delay in drawing the Powergen Shield semi-finals.

He told the club's website: "The draw for the Shield semi-finals will now take place after the Powergen Cup quarter-finals have been played," he said.

"We will then know whether Rotherham or Birmingham/Solihull will be in the Shield competition.

"If Rotherham defeat London Irish and go through to the semi-final then Birmingham/Solihull will replace them in the Shield.

"As the cup quarter-finals are on January 25 and the Shield semi-finals are on March 1, I assume we will therefore be rearranging our league fixture against Moseley."

There will be an early 1.45pm start for Worcester's crunch league game on January 11 at Orrell.

Meanwhile, flanker Christian Evans is targeting a return for the home game with Coventry a week today after being given the all-clear following his six-week absence with a dislocated collarbone.

"Hopefully, all being well, I will be back for the Coventry match but if not, I should be OK for Orrell," he said.

n Sixways is to stage a British Lung Foundation sporting dinner on Friday, February 28, in aid of the Red Balloon appeal for a Centre of Excellence in Lung Research at Birmingham University Medical School.

The guest speaker will be Ieuan Evans MBE, the former Welsh captain and British Lion.

Tickets cost £39.50 a head and for more information call Kathy Leather on 01905-459326.
