POLICE were called to a number of alcohol-fuelled punch-ups and assaults in Redditch town centre during the weekend before Christmas.
Extra officers were drafted in to patrol the centre and give reassurance to night-time revellers.
Elsewhere, Time nightclub had to close its doors to people on Friday and Saturday night because the Church Road venue had become full to capacity.
