A 26-YEAR-OLD man sustained serious head injuries in a fight in Angel Place, Worcester.
During the fight, which happened just after midnight on Monday, December 23, the victim was forced to the ground and stamped on.
He was taken to hospital where he had 15 stitches in his head.
Police, who are appealing for witnesses to the assault, said he was lucky to be alive.
A man has been arrested in connection with the assault and has been remanded while police continue their investigations.
They are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
"I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the man lying on the ground having his head kicked in," said PC Phill Ray.
