TEENAGE striker Ashley Read has given Bromsgrove Rovers' management team a selection headache after scoring twice at the weekend.

Read, whose ability earned him a trial at West Brom, will be in Rovers' squad for their Dr Martens Western Division derby at Redditch United tomorrow (1.30) and joint boss Gary Hackett admits he's left them with a poser.

Hackett was also pleased with Morgan Brookes who made his first appearance of the season for the league leaders after finally shaking off a groin injury.

"Ashley has been very patient, he's still very young and maybe disappointed not to play more but he's certainly put a big question to us with his two goals against Shepshed and is knocking very strongly at the door," said Hackett.

"Morgan Brookes was also outstanding at the back. He was our player of the year last season but was hit by a niggling groin injury.

"But since he's been at Cradley on loan he's recovered and is back to form."

Rovers have put three successive wins together and Hackett is delighted with how the festive period has gone.

"It is a very important part of the season with five games in 14 days and we've got three out of five so far and we've another great opportunity with a big, local derby in front of a big crowd and I'm sure it's going to be tough," he said.

Parfait Medou-Otye returns to the squad but Stewart Brighton (hamstring) will not be risked.
