MOTORSPORT: Top Midlands Centre trial ace David Smith won Bewdley Motor Cycle Club's annual Boxing Day trial at Coney Green.
The heavy overnight rain had made conditions difficult so many riders suffered a big loss of marks.
Smith only just managed to beat Arley's young Ross Danby who battled hard to retain second place.
Jeremy Price won the intermediate class, ahead of Kevin Taylor and Paul Bennett, of Kidderminster.
The Clubman class was won by Kidderminster's Anthony Shanian and the Pre 65 class by Steve Fox, of Hartlebury.
Fox's son, Sean, came second to Danby in the schoolboy class with Trimpley youngster Richard Evans third.
The next Bewdley Club trial will be held on February 2 and the annual dinner and awards presentation is on February 7.
