STOURPORT gave one of their best performances of the season in a 27-14 friendly win at Stourbridge.
The town side dominated from the start and gave the backs plenty of ball in good position to attack the opposition.
Pressure was converted into points early on when Rob Humphries and Malc Bourne combined to send winger Ed Osbourne over for the first try.
The combination, along with strong running from skipper Victor Little and centre Steve MacDonald, worked well, resulting in a try for Bourne and good field position.
Stourport extended the lead to 17-0 at the interval with a push-over effort from Andrew Hubbold.
Stourbridge never gave up and scored an early try in the second half.
But the Wyre Forest men responded with Osbourne's second try before scrum-half Richard Woodward Smith, returning from an 18-month lay-off with injury, crossed to score.
Determined tackling from all, especially man-of-the-match Richard Abbotts, held Stourbridge back until they grabbed a late consolation.
Fixture, Saturday: Stourport v Veseyans (North Midlands One).
